Watson’s Senior Pet Supplies’ Revolutionary Bottoms Up Leash
Is A Proven Pet Rehabilitation Device

-- Initially purchased by individual consumers, veterinarians are discovering the innovative product to rehabilitate their patients --

Santa Monica, CA – On the tail of their second anniversary, Watson’s Senior Pet Supplies is realizing their signature product is reaching an audience whose approval reinforces the effectiveness of the Bottoms Up Leash.

Winner of Dog Fancy’s 2004 Editors’ Choice Award, The Bottom's Up Leash™ is a supportive rear harness made of neoprene and nylon webbing that mobilizes incapacitated dogs by transferring their weight to the front legs, away from its damaged or healing hind legs. The leash is comprised of two nylon leg loops connected to an adjustable strap that accommodates dogs and people of different heights. Each leg loop is padded with a 3-milliliter medical plush Neoprene sleeve, which prevents chafing. The leg loops can also be adjusted in width with side clips.

Although Watson’s Senior Pet Supplies’ signature patented Bottoms Up Leash is primarily sold to individual pet owners, the company is finding that more and more veterinarians are using the product to rehabilitate their patients that have hip and rear leg ailments. Many vets deal with dogs that are incapacitated, or have been rendered unable to walk due to accidents or illness. Over 60% of the estimated 68 million dogs in the United States will at some time in their lives be affected with some version of degenerative hip problem, including arthritis, hip dysplasia, and many other afflictions. Involved in situations where treating the disabled animal is difficult due to limited range of motion, animal care professionals can now provide their incapacitated or healing patients with a regimen that focuses on rehabilitation, instead of drugs or surgery.

Watson’s Senior Pet Supplies was founded in 2004 to provide products, education and information to aging pets and their owners - the fastest growing segment of the pet industry. The company’s inspiration is derived from the loving bond between co-founder Arnie Costell and his dog, Watson. When Watson developed a crippling condition at 15 years old, he became depressed when this condition prevented him from functioning normally. Watson’s plight inspired Arnie to create the Bottom's Up Leash™-- the patented harness that launched the company. The original hand-sewn leash that gave Watson back his dignity proudly hangs in the company’s headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.

Watson’s Pet Company is committed to meeting the challenges of aging pets and their owners by creating premium, proprietary and revolutionary products, and building community through timely educational and informative content. Watson’s sole aim is to provide pets and their owners with a better quality of life.
